Was today typical?
What is typical? So far today, yes, with the exception that I was preparing to actually clean carpet. It’s funny that as an owner of a carpet cleaning company, I rarely clean carpet. I do spend a lot of time teaching others to clean, and I deal with the many issues that come with cleaning.
I’m not sure what a typical day looks like; I spend most of my days trying to figure out how to get out of problems. I’ve heard that most business owners act as fire fighters, while at the same time acting as the arsonist. Got to create job security, right?
So today, not trying to act as either, I’ve sent an order of cleaning supplies out, got my equipment ready to clean, and then driven to the job site. I’m here now, getting ready to clean. And that’s about it.
So yes, I guess today is typical, in that I don’t have a real direction except doing that which takes precedence in my mind. Probably should have been a little more proactive in something, and have probably missed a few opportunities along the way.
